In It For The Long Run. Jim posted a 10th place age group finish in the 2014 Obstacle Course Racing World Championships; earned two gold medals at the 2014 Illinois State Masters Track Championships; a sliver and two bronze medals at the 2014 Wisconsin Indoor State Championships; four gold medals at the 2014 USATF State Track Meet; and All-American status in the 5k and 10k. He has completed four IronMan triathlons and 19 Marathons, plus countless shorter distance events. He’s also competed in the Birkebeiner XC ski race, CrossFit Games Masters competition and once tried out for American Gladiator.

Life In Addition to Elite Athletic Development. Along with his wife Karen, Jim is the proud parent of two athletic children and an extremely athletic Labrador. He loves time with his family, traveling, racing of any type, cooking, boating and a variety of outdoor pursuits.

Life Before Elite Athletic Development. After 15 years of managing restaurants such as Bay Street, Bennigan’s and Boston Market, Jim went back to school to finish his BS in business. Growing up in an athletic family, (his grandfather is in Bowling Green University’s Hall of Fame and his mom ran 26 marathons) Jim decided to combine his love of sports with his experience of opening and growing businesses. In 2006, he took what originally was a marketing class project and opened EAD.

She’s Event Driven. Co-founder of the Arlington Classic Criterium, one of the richest and most popular cycling races in the Midwest, and Northwest Community Hospital’s Run to the Million Half Marathon. She’s also produced hundreds of corporate events.

Science Teacher By Day. Powerhouse By Night. Former gymnast, softball player and competitive cheerleader, Kate is uniquely equipped to teach and do. She currently holds several spots on the EAD / CFAH Wall of Fame for outstanding athletic performance.

Life In Addition to Elite Athletic Development. A tenured cheerleading coach and popular high school teacher, Kate’s dog Booger (you read it right), graduate school, and friends & family round out her life.

Life Before Elite Athletic Development. Kate’s reawakened her inner athlete after training at EAD / CFAH. She is testament that with committed effort you can return to be even better than “glory day” form.

This self-proclaimed Nutrition Science Nerd has his sights set on a solid performance during the 2014 CrossFit Games Open, completing his senior year pre-med studies, cheering on the Chicago Bears, and helping EAD / CFAH athletes achieve their health & fitness goals.

Sammy Jo Mahler

She’s Got Game. Sammy Jo has been an athlete her entire life and is game to accept any challenge, including aerial arts, competitive pole dancing, boxing, track, tennis, 16″ softball, and her first love, swimming. She’s an NCAA All-American Swimmer, and placed 3rd at her first bodybuilding show (Figure division).

Life In Addition to EAD | CFAH. Assistant swim coach for CATS Aquatics, fitness junkie, enthusiastic volunteer for Special Olympics, and a day job that she hopes to soon replace with something full-time in the fitness industry.

Life Before EAD | CFAH. A career in Sales and Marketing.

The Quality She Most Admires in the People She Trains. Hard work, and the drive and the determination on a daily basis to be better.  I love seeing them dig down deep to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals.
