New Class Ideal for Fitness Boot Camp and CrossFit Athletes!

Elite Athletic Development will offer Olympic Lifting instruction and workouts starting Tuesday, April 19 at CrossFit Axis, 43 South Dunton Avenue in Arlington Heights. The classes will be held on Tuesday and Thursday at 6:30 p.m. , and are part of EAD’s convenient and flexible class card system.

The classes will emphasize the proper form, technique and body mechanics necessary to successfully complete the three Olympic Lifts — the Clean and Jerk, Clean and Press and Snatch — plus a workout featuring one or more of the lifts. EAD Head Performance Coach Jim Inman, who is a USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach, NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and CrossFit trainer, will led the classes.

“Everyone from an exercise enthusiast to an elite level athlete will benefit from properly performing Olympic Lifts, yet most people don’t include them as a regular part of their workout,” said Inman. “Our new Olympic Lifting classes and workouts will make these valuable movements accessible to a variety of people in a safe, monitored and results-based environment.”

According to Inman, Olympic Lifting practice will enhance cardiovascular health, improve strength and power, increase full body mobility, and drive movement efficiency.

“Whether you’re a runner, swimmer, bike racer, student athlete or busy mom, Olympic Lifting will help improve how your body functions during a race or as you complete your daily tasks. Our athletes have demonstrated increased strength, power, speed, agility, coordination, endurance, and agility,” said Inman.
