Congratulations to the eight athletes — Brandon B, Scott C, Coach Rory, Coach Josh S, Sammy, Coach Amy, Becca and Coach Jenn — who will represent the EAD / CFAH Community at the 2011 Reebok CrossFit Games Friday, May 27 – Sunday, May 29 at Navy Pier. Our athletes bested teams from what CrossFit officials called the “most competitive region” across the country to earn a berth at the North Central Regionals.
More than 26,000 athletes and 1,000 teams world-wide competed in the grueling, six-week qualifying competition. The top 60 individual athletes and the top 30 teams from each region advanced to their respective regional competition. EAD / CFAH athletes vied against teams from North Dakota, South Dakota, Illinois, Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Minnesota, Arkansas, Missouri, Iowa and Wisconsin.
“We’re proud of the 28 EAD / CFAH athletes who accepted the challenge to compete in the qualifying rounds. And we’re particularly proud of the people who gave it their all, even when the weight was stacked against them, or the movement was tough for them at this point in their development,” said Jim Inman, EAD head performance coach. “The athletes who will represent us at Navy Pier logged the highest-scoring performances within our community. This is a diverse and accomplished team.” Coach Jim will accompany the team to the North Central Regionals where they will test their skills in a free-wheeling series of events that could include almost anything imaginable.
