The Elite Athletic Development / CrossFit Arlington Heights Co-Ed Soccer Squad continued its undefeated season with a 7-1 victory over the “Brady Bunch” Sunday.
The EAD / CFAH defenders put on a clinic, helping keeper Kevin hold the opponents to a single goal at the 13:50 mark of the first half, and stifling the “Brady Bunch” to less than a dozen shots on goal.
Brian “Biggo” O started the EAD / CFAH squad out at 18:44 with a ringing shot from mid-field. Mike K teed up the next shot, which narrowly missed, but Victoria snagged the rebound and passed it to Geno for a goal at 15:05. Not to be denied, Mike K came back at 10:10 for an unassisted goal. The final goal of the half came after Jim trapped a ball mid-field and shuttled it off to Mike K for his second goal of the night.
The EAD / CFAH squad’s fifth goal of the game came just 23 seconds into the second half with a pass from Jim to Biggo; Biggo left the keeper shell-shocked with a blazing shot past his head. Around the 8:30 mark, the “Brady Bunch” rallied and fired off a shot which Kevin deflected. As the “Brady Bunch” mid-fielder lined up to take the rebound shot, Biggo swooped in for the steal and ran the ball the length of the field for his second solo goal of the game. The final goal of the game came with just 8 seconds left when Biggo dumped the ball to Jeff.
Representing EAD / CFAH in Sunday’s game was Brian “Biggo” O, Coach Jim, Johnny Z, Todd G, Mike K, Kevin T, Jeff L, Geno, Victoria, Elizabeth M, Mary Kate O, Stephanie O & Mari L. The squad plays again Sunday, Nov. 18, 5:30 p.m. , against “MRI” in what could be the toughest game of the season. Both teams are tied in points, but “MRI” logged a shutout, giving them a one-point edge in the standings. Come cheer your squad on next week … it’s going to be a great game!
