Merrily Down the Stream … Indeed!

Many -- but not all -- of the 46 EAD / CFAH / CFAX athlete who competed at the 2012 Chicago Indoor Rowing Championships.

Contrary to the the saying featured on team shirts, the waters were mighty friendly to the 46 Elite Athletic Development / CrossFit Arlington Heights / CrossFit Axis athletes who competed at the 2012 Chicago Indoor Rowing Championships.

Crew EAD / CFAH / CFAX was the largest non-r0wing specific organization at CIRC for the second consecutive year, and among the highest performing, with 11 podium finishes, 10 top 10 finishes, and a boatload of personal bests. Crew EAD / CFAH / CFAX, represented by Coaches Alida, Kristen, Josh S & Josh R and athletes Sammy, Maggie, Brian O and Eric N, also stroked to second place in the inaugural CrossFit Challenge Quad 1000m, second place in the CrossFit Challenge 2000m Relay, and second place in the composite event.

The competition area at Chicago State University was a sea of blue team shirts; it was unlikely that you could move in any direction without dropping anchor on a member of Crew EAD / CFAH / CFAX. But it wasn’t just the visual that made an impression. Crew EAD / CFAH / CFAX athletes once again displayed unparallelled community spirit, taking turns serving as “coxswain” for teammates, and traveling en mass to cheer one another on. Multiple spectators from other teams complimented our athletes on their “commitment to each other”, marveled at “how well” we got along and “how much fun” we were having, and what a “cool vibe” our community presented.
